Hands of Hope

Writer: Bonnie CohenBonnie Cohen

In July 30, 2020 in observance of the Jewish holiday of Tisha B’av, members and friends of Beth El Congregation of Akron Ohio, gathered for a virtual workshop to create the mosaic

"Hands of Hope'' featured on this card. Hands have been a symbol of blessing, divine protection, and unity in the Jewish, Christian and Muslim traditions.

The interfaith, interracial and intergenerational group worked together virtually to create a

tangible symbol of hope and acknowledge the suffering occurring in the world.

Beth El Congregation donated funds raised from this project to the Akron Chapter of the

NAACP in solidarity, empathy and hope for a better future.
