The Milton Gottesman School of the Nation’s Capital
The Milton Gottesman School is a vibrant K-8 Jewish day school in Washington, DC. This design concept was a culmination of a yearlong design process which included not only a donor recognition wall but also a complete signage program for the newly constructed building.
Students created colorful collages with Jewish value concepts as the theme. Using a carefully designed and curated color palette and uniform techniques the art teacher helped students create images that were reproduced on 4x4 tiles that were integrated into the designs for the donor wall, and custom designed mezuzot for each classroom.
The day the donor wall was installed, I received this message: “The donor wall is up and we are in awe. Thank you for providing our community with such a meaningful piece of art. The kids were abuzz when they saw it, and every staff member and parent who saw it was deeply moved by its beauty.”
